MATERIALS

Please prepare your preferred leather and shoelaces.

(For beginners, genuine leather or synthetic leather is recommended. For genuine leather, a soft type with a thickness of 2mm or more is preferable; for synthetic leather, a thicker type is also preferred. Thin materials may have low durability and unstable shapes.)

The High Soles Kit includes patterns for Derby (lace-up shoes).

If you want to make shoes with other designs, please order them separately from here (there are free and paid patterns available).

SIZE

Sizes may vary slightly depending on the brand and model, so please refer to the table below and compare it with the size of the shoes you usually wear.

Insoles

You can choose your insoles.

Microfiber insoles are recommended for making shoes.

Sandal insoles are suitable for making sandals.

Patterns

The Soles Kit includes patterns for Derby (lace-up shoes).

If you want to make shoes with other designs, please order them separately from here (there are free and paid patterns available).

How to make Derby 👞

Cut along the lines with a cutter or scissors.

Step 4

Punch holes in the cut patterns.

Step 5

Mark the back of the material you will use with a pen along the pattern.

Step 6

After drawing all the parts for the left shoe, flip the pattern over and draw the parts for the right shoe.

There are right and left shoe patterns.

Mark the inner side of the foot on the pattern, and be careful not to confuse the right and left patterns!

Step 7

Cut along the lines and marks with a knife or sharp scissors, and punch holes.

Step 8

Once all the patterns are cut, temporarily fix the left and right parts in place with masking tape.

Step 9

Thread a needle through each end of the included thread.

Insert the needle at position A and pull the thread through until both threads are the same length.

Sew with needle 1 to point D.

After sewing with needle 2 to point D, insert needle 1 into point D on the sole.

Step 10

Now we will sew the upper and the sole. We will sew using a saddle stitch method, alternating the needles at both ends.

For the side stitches, sew with a single thread and then sew back from the end in the same manner.

To finish, sew both threads twice and cut the ends.

Insert the insole, thread the laces, and it's complete!

This time we used brown synthetic leather, but just by changing the material, the atmosphere changes dramatically. It's fun to create original designs based on the pattern.

Soles recognized by shoe designers (craftsmen)

Mr. Iida, a designer/shoemaker from DECO&BOCO, also purchased our soles and made a sample for us.

They are also popular among artisans who usually spend a lot of time and effort making shoes. Since they can be made in a relatively short time, they plan to create a second line using "LOPER" separately from their regular line.

They are also perfect for shoe-making workshops.
